Have you ever wanted to shoot your very own zombie movie, complete with shuffling undead, gun battles and maybe even a zombie cat? 311 Labs today announces Zombie FX – Augmented Reality (AR) Movie Editor by Pocket Director 1.0.4 for iOS. Become the star of your own Zombie Movie! Create amazing movies whilst your and your friends kill Zombies with guns, rockets and flame throwers or let the zombies eat your friends! All whilst creating your own zombie movie.

Los Angeles, California – Have you ever wanted to shoot your very own zombie movie, complete with shuffling undead, gun battles and maybe even a zombie cat? Out on June 11th, the new ‘ Zombie FX by Pocket Director ‘app allows you to do just that.

This incredible new Augmented Reality (AR) app, the first of its kind, allows you and your friend to direct your own zombie movie in a location of your choice. With over 40 inbuilt scenes, the app allows you to create your very own zombie apocalypse. Film your friends shooting zombies in your back garden, or blowing them up with rocket launchers at the park! The possibilities are only as limited as your imagination.

Have a zombie surprise your characters by falling from a tree and running at them, or cower in fear as a corpse crawls towards them. You can even create scenes from the zombie’s eye view – ramping up the tension as it creeps up on its next unsuspecting victim. And if you’ve ever wondered what would happen if your pet feline was infected, ‘Zombie FX by Pocket Director’ has the answer.

Only available on Apple devices, the app boasts zombie 3d art design by Lawrence Pasion (3D artist for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). The app takes into account the current lighting and adjusts to match with your zombie, casts zombie shadows and depth of the scene you’re filming, the app uses luminosity matching, light source tracking, responsive shadows and depth of field focus to really make it feel like the Zombie is groaning its way across the screen.

A World First:
With AR apps and devices on the rise, the current trend for Augmented Reality is to use it for QR codes and fancy, gimmicky marketing. ‘Zombie FX by Pocket Director’ is different – the world’s first movie editor for handheld devices. And once you’ve filmed your apocalyptic effort, why not post your movie to the Pocket Director Community video platform for others to watch? ‘Zombie FX by Pocket Director’ will be available exclusively from the Apple Store from June 11th.

App developer George Cook: “What’s been great is mixing 2 of my greatest passions; Movies and technology, distilling them down and then making an awesome app.”
