For members of the specialist trade from all over the world the photokina taking place every two years is one of the most important events of the year. They meet important business partners, inform themselves about the latest developments in the imaging sector and order products for the coming months and the Christmas sales. Although for the traders “time is always money”. All the more important for traders is thus to carefully plan the visit of the trade fair and to make the visit as efficient as possible. This is exactly where the photokina helps trade visitors with numerous special offers.

The support for the members of the specialist trade by the event organiser thus starts long before the fair trade. Members of the specialist trade can make contact with companies ahead of photokina via Online Matchmaking, and can hence plan their meetings even better. The efficient online tool directs asked questions directly to all exhibitors of one or more selected group of goods. Based on the feedback via e-mail the international purchasers can agree on target-oriented personal meetings at an early stage already and can optimise their trade fair visit.

Also with regard to an economical arrival the photokina supports their traders and provides a comprehensive range of travel offerings at favourable rates. The Airport Cologne/Bonn can be reached by plane in about 60 minutes from many European cities such as Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris, Prague, London, Munich, Milan and Zurich. With the Lufthansa trade visitors from over 250 cities in 100 different countries can benefit from exclusive special rates when travelling to the photokina. Air connections from abroad to Cologne, Düsseldorf or Frankfurt from now on can be booked online onhttp://www.lufthansa.com/event-buchung. After entering the access code “DEZAIAD” the price discount is deducted automatically or further attractive promotional offers are displayed. The reduced tariffs can also be purchased from IATA travel agencies. Travel agencies have the possibility to request ticketing instructions by indicating the access code via e-mail to[email protected].

The fair grounds can be reached – also from the airports Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Brussels – simply and directly via the ICE high-speed rail network from Deutsche Bahn. In addition, the ICE station Köln Messe/Deutz is located right next to the fair grounds. Rail passengers also benefit from the photokina service offerings. For rail passengers, Koelnmesse, in partnership with Deutsche Bahn, is offering nationwide tickets at reduced prices from 99 euros. The bookings can be performed from now on online on the photokina web site or by phone via the Deutsche Bahn GmbH event hotline (+49 1806 / 31 11 53) under the password “photokina”.

When arriving at the fair grounds the photokina offers an exclusive contact point for trade visitors with the International Buyers Lounge. It is located close to the Entrance South, directly at the train station. During the entire period of the trade fair, members of the specialist trade can find continuously updated information, prepare for further discussions, coordinate deadlines with support from the knowledgeable trade fair team. With W-LAN, notebooks on loan and comprehensive information packages the lounge offers all services needed by trade visitors to perfectly prepare their visit of the trade fair. And if the battery power is exhausted notebooks and mobile phones can be recharged at the provided socket strips (you must bring your own battery charger) and the owners can recharge their batteries while they are having a small snack. The International Business Lounge thus functions as a back office for its users. It is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm, i.e. from one hour before the trade fair opens until one hour after it closes. Access is reserved exclusively for registered traders.

And due to the fact that knowledge about markets and their development are a prerequisite for a successful business the Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung (Association of Consumer Research) with the GfK Market Briefings provides comprehensive information for trade visitors from all over the world. Basic and background data, detailed market and product group studies on various economic areas from Western Europe via South East Asia and USA to Eastern Europe make this event from GfK Marketing-Services and Prophoto GmbH a must-attend appointment for traders and industrial representatives.

Current information on the trade fair can be found in the press section of our homepageatwww.photokina.com.
