Hong Kong – HEX3 Limited has launched a new Kickstarter campaign set to transform your iPhone, iPad or iPod into a multitouch trackpad, graphics tablet, media control, numberpad and allows drawing to Photoshop on your Mac. SketchDock makes it easy to turn your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a digitizing tablet that enables you make sketches and notes directly on your Mac or PC in real time.

Artists have been using digitizing tablets to draw on computer screens for some time. But the high cost of these tablets has made them too expensive for many potential users. HEX3 has recently developed an innovative product to overcome this problem. SketchDock is an easy to use and affordable solution that gives you the tools previously available only on high-end digitizing tablets, so you can now draw direct from SketchDock to the screen of your computer in Photoshop or any other app that has pen input.

SketchDock is the brainchild of Jon Atherton, founder of HEX3, who launched the world's first pressure sensitive stylus (called JaJa) on Kickstarter in 2011. This innovation inspired Jon to take the next step.

“One of my ideas at the time was to enable people to draw on an iPhone or iPad screen and have their sketches appear on the computer screen in real time with pressure sensitivity,” Jon says. “I recognized that digitizing tablets were fairly expensive – but most people were already carrying the technology they needed in their purse or pocket.”

Using the JaJa Stylus, SketchDock delivers 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Together with app partner Mobile Mouse, it also delivers full multi-touch, including scroll and pitch to zoom, just like the touch pad of a MacBook. In addition it turns your iPhone or iPod into a number pad and signature pad, and provides a music and media controller.

The SketchDock is beautifully crafted from precision aluminum and is available in silver, black and a limited edition Kickstarter edition with green highlights on either the silver or black models. Other notable features include the ability to charge iPhones 4 or 5 during use, volume up and down buttons, an eject button that enables one-handed phone eject, the ability to accept 30-pin cables and a design that fits most cases.

After using Kickstarter to develop several products that have achieved success and critical acclaim, Jon is excited about the company's latest product. “SketchDock is not like any other dock. It does a lot more than just charge your iPhone,” he says. “It greatly enhances the functionality of your phone or iPad and eliminates the need for a digitizing tablet or track pad.”
