Consumer Electronics Association Announces Las Vegas Donations to Advance Sustainability Efforts
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® will hold a news conference to announce substantial donations to local Las Vegas organizations in order to advance clean energy and sustainable living. CEA owns and produces the International CES®, the world’s largest annual innovation event, which is held annually in Las Vegas. The 2013 CES opens on Tuesday, January 8 and runs through Friday, January 11. This is event is open to credentialed media only. |

With more than 150,000 attendees and 3,264 exhibitors covering 1.9 million square feet of space, the 2013 CES will feature TechZones including Sustainable Planet, GoElectricDrive and Eureka Park. In addition to the donation to local green organizations, CEA has an overall goal in conjunction with the 2013 International CES to increase the reuse and recycle rate for solid waste generated at the show beyond last year’s high of 75 percent. For the second year, more than 190,000 badge holders were made from vinyl banners from the previous year’s CES, and CEA will also collect discarded publications and show collateral, setting out to surpass last year’s collection of 50,000 pounds of materials.
