Manfrotto Distribution Completes Its Bridging Technology TM Series Of Heads And Tripod Systems At The 2013 National Association of Broadcasters Show

LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — At the National Association of Broadcasters show, Manfrotto Distribution, world leader in the equipment and accessories industry for photography and imaging, has released the “500” tripod head and 4 systems at NAB this year. This completes the series of 4 heads that incorporate the Bridging Technology originally introduced 3 years ago with the release of the 504HD head and tripod systems.

“It is great that we are introducing the “500” heads as replacements for the 701HDV this year at NAB,” said Wayne Schulman, Sales & Product Manager, Video. “The 504HD, 509HD and the “502” heads have been a huge success and Bridging Technology has proven itself as a great design in the field. I look forward to extending this technology to smaller payloads that are handled by the “MVH500AH” flat base head and the “MVH500A” 60mm half ball version.”

Bridging Technology was born out of the need for different payloads in different configurations to be balanced on the same tripod and tripod head. It also took into account the need for smooth, consistent, fluid movement required by the larger sensors. The revolutionary ergonomics of Bridging Technology was designed for better handling of the weight variations while the inner workings of fluid cartridges and ball bearings created the smooth and consistent fluidity. There truly are no other heads in the industry quite like it.

The “500” and “502” heads are also available with a flat base that allows for easy use on sliders and mini-jibs. The 4 heads are available in aluminum tripod systems and carbon fiber tripod systems, all also coming with a tripod.

Manfrotto Launches The 500 Video Head At The 2013 National Association of Broadcasters Show

LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — At the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Manfrotto, world leader in the equipment and accessories industry for photography and imaging, is showcasing the new Manfrotto 500 Video Head. A lightweight fluid head designed for users of the latest HDSLRs and video cameras, the 500 replaces the 701HDV and becomes the smallest head to be built around Manfrotto's successful Bridging Technology.

“We are happy to debut the new Manfrotto 500 video head, as it provides vastly improved support and balance for equipment while not sacrificing ease of use, safety or efficiency,” said Wayne Schulman, Sales & Product Manager, Video. “The 500 delivers beautiful shots, ensuring smooth and controlled camera movement.”

Better support and balance for your equipment
The “hollowed out” structure of Bridging Technology heads gives the 500 a great advantage. Without sacrificing its low weight, it has a top plate that's broader, for better support of the wider shape of DSLRs. The top plate is also longer, so its sliding plate has a greater range of adjustment to balance the shifting center of gravity of a DLSR or camcorder used with interchangeable prime and zoom lenses.

Faster, easier and safer to use
Manfrotto has also made the 500 faster to set up and safe to use. The new side lock lever allows the camera and sliding QR plate to click quickly into the head from above. You will find it is simpler to remove the camera now as well. There is only one locking control to release, and the camera lifts easily out from above.

The 500 is set to a fixed counterbalance of around 5 pounds, but locking power on the tilt axis ensures the head is perfectly stable under camera equipment weighing up to 11 pounds. To allow an external monitor or other accessory equipment to be fitted and properly supported, the 500 has an industry-standard Easy Link 3/8″ connector.

Beautifully smooth shots
The 500 has professional fluid cartridges on both pan and tilt axes to ensure that every movement made with the camera is smooth, controlled and gentle.

The 500 is available as a stand-alone head, in either flat-based or 60mm half-ball versions, in a kit with twin aluminum leg tripod or single carbon fiber tubes tripod. The combination between the 500 head with the patented fluid monopod is also available. The head's comfortable pan bar can be switched between left and right sides depending on personal preference.

LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — At the National Association of Broadcasters show, Manfrotto Distribution, world leader in the equipment and accessories industry for photography and imaging, will demonstrate the versatility of the SYMPLA Shoulder Rig which is aimed at making the videographer's life simpler than ever.

“We are excited to show how versatile the SYMPLA shoulder rig is at NAB 2013. After one year in the field we have found that the basic rig can be configured to accommodate most of the interchangeable lens video cameras in the market right out of the box with little or no additional accessories,” said Wayne Schulman, Sales & Product Manager, Video. “The SYMPLA line bridges the gap between off-the-shelf, ready-to-use convenience and custom modularity, and we look forward to showcasing it to NAB attendees at this year's show.”

SYMPLA supports can be assembled, configured and adjusted to a wide range of situations in seconds – all without tools. Every product in the line, from the unique Flexible Matte Box to the innovative Variable Plate, is made of steel and aluminum to withstand the rigors of professional use and meet Manfrotto's high quality and performance standards. The number of components in the SYMPLA family gives users maximum flexibility and adjustment control with minimum hassle. Like everything Manfrotto makes for professional users, SYMPLA is 100% compatible with other Manfrotto photo and video support products.

SYMPLA modular rigs are yet another example of Manfrotto's unparalleled research and development, engineering and manufacturing expertise. They incorporate design and technology innovations and best-in-class ideas from Manfrotto's current products. Self-supporting clamps that stay in place even before they're locked, for example, come from the world of heavy-duty stage lighting. Flexible, easy-locking ball-joint hand grips were inspired by Manfrotto photographic ball heads. Multi-axis micro-adjusters and single locking mechanisms, which make fine tuning easier and safer, come from Manfrotto photographic geared heads. And sliding plates with quick release and secondary safety buttons were borrowed from Manfrotto professional video heads. Together, these advanced components make SYMPLA modular rigs easier, safer and more comfortable for even the smallest video teams to use on location and on the run.
