DNP Launches Mobile Party Print v1.5 To Give Event Photographers A Competitive Edge
CONCORD, North Carolina – DNP IMS America Corporation (IMSA) recently introduced its latest software update to its innovative mobile app for pro event photographers, Mobile Party Print (MPP). The app allows photographers to stay competitive and maximize profits while offering clients a fun alternative to the traditional photo booth. MPP version 1.5 now features the ability to create custom messaging for special events, easier set-up for first time users, and a host of other beneficial updates.
Through deployment of the Mobile Party Print system, event photographers can offer guests and event attendees the ability to instantly print candid moments captured on their own mobile device. Guests merely download the free Mobile Party Print App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and send their pictures via WiFi to a dedicated server established by the photographer.
“Mobile Party Print is a new tool to help professional wedding and event photographers remain competitive in a tough market that’s been saturated with digital technology,” commented Kazuhiro Kawabata, President of DNP IMSA. “People are increasingly snapping their own pictures at weddings and other events. This app takes the smart phone in the hand of every event attendee and turns it into an additional source of revenue for photographers.”
In order to set up the service, the photographer simply connects a wireless router to a Windows PC and teams it with the MPP Software, effectively creating a Mobile Party Print server. The server then receives images sent by guests through the MPP app via WiFi and prints to a connected DNP printer. The MPP software is compatible with any of DNP’s dye-sublimation printers, including the award-winning DS40, DS80, and RX1 printers.
Version 1.5 allows for easier set up of the MPP by implementing DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), a standardized network protocol that configures the IP settings of another device. The DHCP allows for mobile devices to connect to the MPP server without the need for custom IP settings. In addition, the update offers new help files within the mobile application that provide step by step instruction on how to connect, select, and print images.
Within the updated version, custom HTML files can be imported allowing photographers to implement custom messages and special instructions for guests and event attendees. Version 1.5 supports Windows 7 and 8, as well as mobile devices operating iOS 5 or greater and Android versions 2, 3, and 4 or greater.
Additionally, Mobile Party Print v1.5 offers a simple shoot and print workflow. By utilizing an Android-based DSLR camera, photographers can use Mobile Party Print to wirelessly print their images immediately, rather than uploading to a computer and printing later.
“Version 1.5 showcases our commitment to providing event photographers with easily deployed and reliable systems to increase productivity and profitability,” summarized Kawabata.
